The South West 660 is a brand new driving tour that has been launched to showcase the stunning scenery, dramatic coastline and rich history that can be found across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset.  This ultimate southwest road trip follows the coastline from Sandbanks in Dorset around the southwest peninsular until Watchet in Somerset.  The route is 660 miles long and can be started at any point, you also don’t need to complete the whole route in one go!

Kentisbury Grange is delighted to be an accommodation partner for the Clovelly to Lynton section for North Devon.  This section is 50 miles long and takes in the world-famous surfing beaches of Woolacome and Croyde Bay.  There is much more to this area than crashing waves though.  One of the southwest’s most varied coastlines, from the rugged cliffs of Bideford Bay, the estuaries of Tor and Torridge to the wooded coves of the Exmoor coast, this section of the South West 660 is incredibly diverse.  It offers some of the best roadside views of the entire South West 660 trip.  You’ll see some of the country’s biggest dunes, highest cliffs and find some of the most secluded seaside spots in the southwest too.

The route has been broken down into 12 manageable sections, allowing you to experience the whole road trip adventure at a pace to suit you. The 660-mile drive around the southwest peninsular uses a careful selection of smaller roads that hugs the coastline, giving you great views to sandy beaches, quaint fishing villages, dramatic cliffs and of course the sea!

There is so much to experience along the route; history, nature, culture and of course discover the very best of the southwest’s food & drink.  You can plan your route around a particular theme or interest or just move from village to village.

We hope you’ll join us here at Kentisbury Grange and experience what South West 660 has to offer; it’s a fantastic way to explore and experience this beautiful area.
